The usual blogger gang is gathering again in New York. Arrangements are incomplete. Phooey. There are no arrangements so far. We need help in the City to find a place we can get to that is reasonably priced and has space for however many can attend on Friday evening, 7 May.
Before we can make firm arrangements, we need some idea how many to expect. So far we have tentative commitments from 8 or so. Please add your name in the comments. Feel free to invite whomever.
Also we need someone who will investigate various venues and make the actual arrangements. Volunteers? Dan?

St. James in the Bronx
For any of you interested in attending a service at St. James Episcopal church in Fordham in the Bronx, where Tobias Haller is the vicar, here's the information:
Sunday 11:00 a.m. — Sung Holy Eucharist
How to get to Saint James Church
Saint James Church, Fordham is at the corner of Jerome Avenue and 190th Street, one block north of Fordham Road and two blocks south of Kingsbridge Road in the Northwest Bronx.
It is very easy to reach Saint James Church by public transportation from almost anywhere in the Bronx or Manhattan.
* The #4 Jerome Avenue Subway line stop "Fordham Road" is on Jerome Avenue one block south of the church.
* The D Subway line stop "Fordham Road" is on the Grand Concourse, one long block south and three short blocks east of the church.
It's a beautiful, old, Gothic-style church, built in the early 1860s, with lovely Tiffany glass windows.

So I called the restaurant that a bunch of you suggested...
Le Grainne Cafe sounds like a crowd choice here.
So I called them to make a reservation. (Just now. Almost 11.50pm NYC time on a Friday night.)
The woman who answered tells me that they don't make reservations. No exceptions. She was very helpful and polite about it, though.
BUT, she tells me that a crowd of 15 to 18 people at 6.15pm on a Monday night in October shouldn't be a problem. We might have to wait a few minutes as they put together some tables but she has no reason to think that there might be a problem.
I suppose that we should have a little backup plan just in case but I am tempted to say let's do it. If need be I can skip the service of Evening Prayer (hey, the sacrifices I'll make, eh?) and camp out there to grab us a table.
What do you think? Go take a look at the site. Their menu is up and it looks good to me. (the wine list is only so-so, but you can't get everything and that night I won't be worrying about the wine list because I'll be too excited at meeting all of you.)
As of right now I'm thinking we are going to have 15 to 18 of us. We will gather in the room at General Theological that QueerforChrist and his partner Gabe have secured (thanks guys!) at around 4pm. I'll bring a bottle or two of sherry and anyone else can bring a bottle or snacks. Then we will go to Evensong at the campus chapel at 5.30. I am told it should end at 6pm. The restaurant is across the street.
Does this sound o.k. to everyone?

RSVP HERE for the gathering in October
Friends of MadPriest and Of Course I Could Be Wrong are invited to join up in New York City on Monday night, October 22nd.
We will gather about 4 or 4.30pm for a cup of coffee, tea or a soda at a place to-be-announced near General Theological Seminary in Chelsea.
From there we will wander down the street to the seminary chapel for Evensong at 5.30pm.
And then we will head up the street to a restaurant in the neighborhood for dinner and drinks.
We've spent the past few days discussing it on each other's blogs. Which is getting confusing.
So, to solve that, please RSVP here.
